Jazmine Sullivan
Jazmine was raised and born to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam is Jazmine's mom, and is a former backing singer with Philadelphia International Records. Her father offered her an opportunity to be the curator of the Historic Strawberry Mansion. She together with her family then relocated to the iconic. She was a graduate in 2005 from the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in which she was the vocal music instructor. Sullivan began singing in the contralto section of the kids' choir, and then just a few years later, in the adult choir. Sullivan experienced only a small amount of secular music. She relates that she was singing as a soloist in the church, when someone suggested signing her to a gospel label, but was not prepared for the task.
